This is a tribute to Roger Chlala - AKA Rapbase - who passed away on Friday 28-03-2008 Roger's amazing character will always be remembered. His fun-loving, free spirited enthusiasm and friendly nature was unique and his sense of humour and jokes could make any person feel at ease. Just to have him in the same room with you would make you feel good. Roger's business life started with the foundation of Disco Number 1. In the days before internet, Disco Number 1 was the only place to get new music.

In 1996 he gave Mix FM its first offices - giving much of his time and equipment to make sure the radio station succeeded.

He then became a DJ himself and for 12 years, The Rapzone every Wednesday night was the number 1 rap show in the country.

His appearances at events were always a massive success. Every party or rnb night at clubs like Egzit and events like One Big Sunday were sell out parties.

His fanbase expanded every year and his music reached out to thousands of fans. Some say that he was the reason Rap and Hip Hop music in Lebanon is so popular.

Without Rap base, there would be no mix fm. his support and dedication to the station will never be surpassed
